Making its first appearance in in 2015 and performing for almost a decade, Hamilton took Broadway by storm with its fresh approach. From Ron Chernow’s book about Alexander Hamilton, it tells the life story of Alexander Hamilton’s early years and journey to power as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. This is a profound story that is both creative and political, Hamilton has been lauded as fearless in its storytelling and has left its mark on politics, culture, and education.
Written by American composer and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, famous for his numerous accomplishments in both Broadway and film. He went on to write the music and lyrics for his former Broadway play In the Heights, another Tony award-winning showcase, and is also the creator of music and lyrics in many high profile musical movies such as Moana. The hit Broadway musical, featuring a mixed cast, is set to a score that blends new genres like hip hop, jazz, R&B, which has made Hamilton all the more revolutionary and engaging by bringing these genres to the Broadway stage. Songs such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have been considered as Broadways best memorable songs from the musical since its Broadway release. Lin-Manuel Miranda has attributed his music inspiration for Hamilton to become top rap and hip-hop rappers of America, he wanted to unite the different genres together in an unprecedented manner. The score of Hamilton are praised heavily by Idaho critics alike, as compared to other Broadway musicals that have been staged, Hamilton continues to be more fast-paced and lively than others.
